Premium Swiss-headquartered chocolate manufacturer Lindt & Sprüngli has named Andrew Curran as its new Chief Executive Officer of its Canadian operations, reports Neill Barston.
As the company noted, he began with the business in 2007, and progressed into more senior posts with the confectionery group, which recently reported a strong set of performance figures despite background supply chain challenges.
Moreover, as the firm noted, in 2019, he took on the role of Global Head of Marketing at Lindt & Sprüngli (International), with the company describing him as having “been instrumental in shaping our brand’s global presence.”
The company said: Andrew’s unwavering commitment to excellence, dedication to the Lindt brand, and innovative leadership will be a great asset to the Lindt Canada team. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Andrew. Here’s to a sweet and successful journey ahead.”
Furthermore, in a linked development, Lindt’s outgoing regional president and CEO, Justin Reese, has also just been announced as the president of and CEO of its connected Ghirardelli Chocolate business in North America, which once again was among key chocolate confectionery exhibitors at the recent Sweets & Snacks Expo, which returned to Indianapolis Indiana, US.
The company has maintained a strong presence in America, and last year it invested significantly in its flagship San Francisco store, having been a market pioneer in the region stemming back to the 1850s.
Its recently revamped location features what is thought to be North America’s largest flowing chocolate wall, the original, 19-foot “G” from the marque Ghirardelli sign, a replica San Francisco cable car that doubles as a seating area, antique chocolate making equipment on display.
