Cepi among equipment businesses preparing to exhibit at the tenth Gulfood Manufacturing

Automation and bulk storage and conveying equipment specialists, Cepi has been confirmed among a wide array of businesses serving the confectionery, snacks and bakery markets at this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing event, as it marks its tenth anniversary, writes Neill Barston.

The show, which returns to the Dubai World Trade Centre between 5-7 November, is set to feature a total of more than 2,500 exhibitors from 70 countries, showcasing machinery, systems and ingredients for the food and drink sector.

For its part, Cepi will be appearing at booth S3-D23 in Hall 3 Sheikh Saeed, focus on areas including its bulk-handling systems that offer technology that is turnkey, highly customised and fully automatic.

The business has focused on delivering multiple storing and dosing options to our special applications such as flour cooling, fermentation, sugar milling, scrap reworking, cold dosing, invert sugar, silo sanitisation, as well as process optimisation for company operations.

Gulfood expansion
This year’s Gulfood Manufacturing spans an impressive total of 19 halls across 1 million square feet, which represents an overall growth of 30% compared to previous editions, and it is this expansion that was in part behind the decision to move ISM Middle East to a position in September, which itself experienced notable growth in being nearly double the size of its previous editions (see our video review of the 2024 event here).

As the event’s organisers noted, a decade on from its formation, the show continues to garner interest from board, C-level and executives across all sectors of food manufacturing, from processing, packaging, and ingredients to supply chain solutions and control & automation, by showcasing the latest innovations and advances enhancing efficiency, sustainability and profitability. Other topics on the agenda for 2024’s show include food biofortification, AI-driven ingredients, nanotechnology in packaging, precision fermentation, and smart supply chains – and helping brands to achieve competitive advantage and drive the growth of the industry.

One of its most notable elements is the FoodTech Summit, in which more than 100 business leaders and engaging industry experts from around the globe will speak on the very latest trends, innovations and challenges in the F&B industry.

As part of this, strategic futurist Dr. Mark van Rijmenam, a specialist on digital transformation and cutting-edge technologies, will give a keynote speech on the first day exploring how AI is revolutionising food processing, enhancing automation and enabling the use of digital twins to optimise production. He will also address potential risks, such as data privacy concerns and the ethical use of artificial intelligence.

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of Dubai World Trade Centre, commented: “As we celebrate this milestone tenth edition of Gulfood Manufacturing, we reflect not only on the remarkable growth and innovation within the food manufacturing sector over that time, but also the forces such as Industry 5.0 that are shaping the future of food production and processing. The scale of this year’s show reflects the industry’s ever-growing demand for cutting-edge solutions that address sustainability, innovation, and efficiency challenges. We are committed to fostering these conversations, bringing industry leaders together, and driving the transformation of the global food manufacturing landscape.”
